15:00 - 15:30Lifting the Lid on Executive Search

It seems just about anybody can set up as a headhunter and in the absence of  legislation how do you know if you have chosen wisely?

A good deal of the legislation is complex and contradictory and the cost of compliance, in terms of time and money, can be disproportionate to the benefits, so it is buyer beware when choosing a retained executive search company.

Peter will explain the issues, and provide some of the tests that you should apply in making your selection.

Speakers
Peter Rodgers at EREC 2008

Peter is Chairman of the Association of Executive Recruiters.

In 1994, Peter Rodgers established a specialist management consultancy and by 1997, this had developed into a fully functional retained search firm.

Trading as Rodgers Associates, he established affiliate organisations in New York and Sydney and pioneered specialist search training which in 2001 led to the formation of the Pure Search Company.

Currently, Peter divides his time. He develops and delivers executive search training for the REC and its Specialist Group, the Association of Executive Recruiters (AER) but continues to operate as a niche retained search consultant.

In 2006, Peter joined the Executive Committee of the AER responsible for standards and training and in May 2008 was elected to the Chair.

He sees part of his role during his occupancy of the position as increasing awareness of Executive Search in a market where clients increasingly appear to be unsure of what recruitment services they are being sold and where an increasing number of consultants are selling services that they are unqualified to deliver.
